The seductive line between Shoemaniac & Shoe-fetishist

Could a deep love for shoes become a fetishism? How to find a good way to define our love and passion we have for the shoes - for any type, any day & anytime?!

In these days there is a very thin line between those two expressions. Some people can be obsessed by shoes, wake up every morning thinking of shoes, buy one pair almost every day. Having this strong heart beat (almost like a sexual impulse to buy one pair or just to touch it, or having a sensation like the Stendhal syndrom and being overwhelmed by breathtaking beauty) when you see the shoes behind t he glass, can’t stop thinking about them, have to try them and won’t be able to think about anything else until you buy them no matter what.

The feeling when you see The ONE, grab it from the shelf, feel the soft leather with every little handmade details, the straight heel or the hard wedges in opposite of some soft and comfortable rubber sole.... Feel the ask for your size, open the box and with praying words “Please fit me, please get inside, please, please, let it work!” you try it on....each millimeter of the shoe fits you perfectly, makes you feel as your second skin...that feeling is pure devotion simply called love!

    Are you a shoe-maniac or already a shoe-fetishist?

How is the word Mania really defined?

Mania is a state of abnormally elevated mood or energy levels. It is the opposite of depression (which is great, who wants to be depressed all the time!). The expression comes from Greek meaning "madness, to rage, to be furious".I think almost everyone has a mania for something...sport, food, travelling, love or clothing etc. Yes, we all are maniacs!

How is the word Fetishism really defined?

A fetish, SHOES in this case is an object believed to have supernatural powers, or a man-made object that has power over others. So a fetishism is the unstopped attribution of powers to an object.

Shoe fetishism is the attribution of attractive sexual qualities to shoes as a matter of sexual preference and an alternative to a relationship with a partner...hmm... ("Skin Two" is a famous magazine for those of you want to get closer to the subject)

That devotion began in the 19th century in Central European where students (whoe else!) drank wine or champagne from their lady's shoe. In commemoration of this "shoe-drinking" tradition, the French shoe manufacturer Christian Louboutin (reading his name my heart beats way faster, our Mr. Red) issued in 2009 a glass shaped like a woman’s shoe.

Well, all shoes have a supernatural powers...they make us look sexier in many ways (just imagine the naked body only with just shoes on, either bikers or heels etc...), stand out of the crowd, they change our way to walk and run. Perhaps we dont even realize the strong power they have over us but we do know they change our mood...

We all know the difference when wearing sneakers or heels, we walk differently in heels (better hopefully if we know how to walk in them), our body has a different curve, we feel more sexy and we show it, there is nothing more feminine than heels! I know, I know, if you have to run errands the whole day heels might not be the best idea. You can always wear the sneakers or any flat shoes but why not to show the little bit of your sex-appeal time to time?!

Erica Fierro, a friend of mine who I can call a "shoe-expert", is a famous acrobat and in the last few years I've never seen her without heels or huge wedges, even at home she wears high clogs and she has this kind of rule "You really know how to walk in heels only if you can run fast in them!"

We wanted to share this special feature form the magazine "AnOther" about the power of the Shoe Obsession http://www.anothermag.com/current/view/2744/Shoe_Obsession

Get influence by the magic the shoes have, it is just up to you if you accept it or not.

You can always put them on a shelf and admire them as an art-work, or as your Fetish Pieces.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
